Friars Aylesbury has a long tradition of supporting local bands and over the years has supported and presented Marillion, John Otway, Howard Jones, Callow Saints and many others. In its 50th anniversary year Friars now presents Aylesbury heroes The Dung Beatles who are considered to be one of the very best Beatles bands in the UK. They will be playing the Abbey Road album in its entirety, plus other Beatles classics. This gig will be on Thursday 26 September 2019 which will be 50th anniversary, to the day, of the release of the Abbey Road album.

Four months later he played Friars Aylesbury for the second time. In the interim period ‘Hunky Dory’ had been released and immediately went to No 1 in the local Aylesbury album chart. So on 29 January 1972 we were very excited about seeing him play Hunky Dory. He did play a few songs from that album but the majority of the set was a completely stunning new suite of songs which turned out to be the Ziggy Stardust album. Includes: 3 Repro numbered copies of the original Bowie Friars news-sheets. Four best tickets for Holy Holy playing the Ziggy Stardust album. Your name or company permanently engraved on plaque near statue. Two repro numbered & signed Friars Bowie posters (20"X30").

Friars Aylesbury is a music club that runs in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, England. It opened in 1969 but closed down twice, once in 1970 for a period of nine months and again in 1984 for a period of twenty-five years. Friars Aylesbury reopened in June 2009 to tie in with its fortieth anniversary. Friars Aylesbury ran as a music club in the market town of Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire between 1969 and 1984 in three distinct phases denoted by the venue in the town.

This song is by The Mission and appears on the compilation album The First Chapter (1987). Brother of Cain, but I'm not AbelTo see the word from the treesI'm all at sea, come hell and high waterBefore I drown, kiss me please. In our recent piece regarding the first Ziggy Stardust gig at Aylesbury Friars on January 29th, 1972, we promised an exclusive first look at an even rarer Bowie Aylesbury Friars poster than the one for that January show. On 25th September 1971, Bowie chose Aylesbury Friars Borough Assembly Hall to showcase much of the forthcoming Hunky Dory album. Initially performing as a duo with Mick Ronson, the show cranked up somewhat with the addition of new boys, Woody Woodmansey and Trevor Bolder. Later still in the set, ex Animal Tom Parker played piano
