Marietta was an American emo band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Marietta began in 2011. They released a split with Modern Baseball in 2012 titled Couples Therapy. In 2013, Marietta released their first full-length album titled Summer Death. In April 2015, Marietta released an EP titled Cuts. On August 17, 2015, Marietta released their second full-length album titled As It Were.

Marietta Petkova (b. 1968, Bulgaria) won the Grand Prix of the 1978 National Piano Competition. She graduated from the local conservatory in 1986 with the school's Gold Medal, spent a year at the Music Academy Sofia, studying with Lili Atanassova and Gina Tabakova, and two years at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Vienna, under Paul Badura-Skoda. Since 1989, she took lessons with György Sebök (1922-1999), who turned out to be an invaluable source of inspiration for her. She won prizes in prizes in Italy, Czechoslovakia, Bulgaria, Portugal, Austria, Switzerland and The Netherlands. In 1993 she was awarded the prestigious title Lauréate Juventus in France.

Marietta Petkova performs all over Europe, in North America and in Japan, especially with solo recitals, but also in chamber music and as a soloist with orchestras like the Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne, Concertgebouw Chamber Orchestra, Netherlands Chamber Orchestra, Dutch Radio Symphony Orchestra, Württembergische Philharmonie Reutlingen and Kammerorchester Arcata Stuttgart. Regularly Marietta Petkova appears in the most important Dutch concert halls, like the Grand Hall of the Amsterdam Concertgebouw
