Jeopardy is the first studio album by the Sound. About Jeopardy 1 contributor. Jeopardy is the first studio album by the Sound. Warner Brothers’ imprint Korova picked up the post-punk band on the merit of the demo cuts for what would become this album. The band recorded it in a single week on a shoestring budget, and it feels like it in the best of ways-each song plays like a live show, with no over-slick studio polishing to interfere with the immediacy of the performance. While the album and its single, Heyday, received immense praise from critics, it failed to receive the kind of popular attention that could have sent it to the top of the charts. Produced by The Sound & Nick Robbins. We are young But are we strong? We've held out For so long. Now we're in Jeopardy Now we're in Jeopardy, jeopardy. We knew our Ideals were high The lower we sink The less we care why. I know we're in Jeopardy I know we're in Jeopardy, jeopardy. Lost the will To keep up the pace Dead on my feet Defeat on my face. I know I'm in Jeopardy I know I'm in Jeopardy, jeopardy Jeopardy, jeopardy. Such a slow Steady slide Takes away So much inside.

From the Lions Mouth is the second studio album by English post-punk band The Sound, released in November 1981 on record label Korova. Following the release of their previous album Jeopardy, keyboardist Belinda "Bi" Marshall left the group and was replaced by Colvin "Max" Mayers. For their new album, The Sound worked with producer Hugh Jones, as well as co-producing the album themselves. The album's sound was more polished than previous efforts.

Following the album, Marshall left the band and was replaced by Colvin "Max" Mayers, previously in Cardiacs. For their second album, the band worked with producer Hugh Jones. Korova pressured Borland and his bandmates to come up with a more commercially successful third album, in addition to shifting the Sound from Korova to WEA proper. In an act of rebellion, they responded with All Fall Down in 1982, an album that took them even further away from the mainstream. Drummer Mike Dudley explained

Members: - Adrian Borland (. April 26th 1999) - Bi Marshall ("Jeopardy" LP only) - Colvin "Max" Mayers (. Boxing Day 1993) - Graham "Greene" Bailey - Michael Dudley. Adrian Borland and Graham Bailey, along with Bi Marshall were formerly Second Layer. Before Second Layer, Adrian formed The Outsiders (2).

Jeopardy is the debut studio album by English post-punk band The Sound, released in November 1980 by record label Korova. Following their 1979 EP Physical World, the band started work on a full-length album. Impressed by the rough mixes, Korova signed the group. Jeopardy was recorded inexpensively at Elephant Studios in London, and was produced by The Sound themselves and Nick Robbins. Adrian Janes, ex-member of The Outsiders along with Sound frontman Adrian Borland and Bob Lawrence, contributed writing to two tracks, despite not being a member of The Sound

It doesn't feel like I missed this in the 80's. It feels like this album isn't stuck there. In fact "Jeopardy" feels like it was recorded 5 years too early. The vocal delivery, the guitars tone, everything is genuine, no post punk groan, recorded loud and raw. My copy is clean, quiet and cherished.
