Buzz Cason: I'm going to ride it out as far as I can. I started at 16 with Nashville's first rock & roll band, The Casuals. We went all over the country, all 50 states, and I got my education on the road. Buzz' first recorded song was "My Love Song For You," which appeared on the debut album by The Casuals, historically known as Nashville's first rock & roll band, and reached the local Top 10 charts in the mid-1950s. The Casuals would go on to become the touring band for Brenda Lee. But I was always an amateur poet.
Love Buzz" is a song by Dutch rock band Shocking Blue. It was written by Robbie van Leeuwen and first released on the group's 1969 album, At Home. The song was covered by Nirvana, released as their debut single in 1988. American rock band Nirvana recorded a cover version of the song for its 1988 début single, released on Sub Pop in the USA. It was the first single in the Sub Pop Singles club and was limited to 1000 numbered copies. A Sub Pop invoice indicates that 1200 sleeves were made.

For four decades, Buzz Cason has invented and reinvented himself. It all started in 1956, when Cason, then an Inglewood, TN teenager and junior at Isaac Litton High, was given the opportunity to lip-synch "White Christmas" on the Noel Ball Saturday Showcase, a local talent show on WSIX-TV (ABC), then Channel 8. Reluctant to delve into a television musical, Jim Seymore, a fellow art student organizing the show told. Cason indeed enjoyed performing on camera and met the musicians at the television station, soon forming a group they called, "The Casuals", generally recognized as Nashville's first rock-n-roll band. Ball produced the band. Their first album, which contained Cason's first song, "My Love Song For You", co-written with Richard Williams, vocalist and keyboardist with the Casuals.
Buzz's collaborative album with fellow songwriter Billy Swan was released on August 17 by ArenA Recordings. Billy & Buzz Sing Buddy is their tribute to Buddy Holly's music and features their fresh takes on ten of Holly's classic songs plus their original song "Thank You Buddy". The album was recorded at the legendary Creative Workshop recording studio in the Berry Hill area of Nashville and features a guest appearance by original Crickets drummer Jerry Allison . Buzz Cason and Billy Swan will perform at this summer’s Vancouver Island MusicFest that will take place from July 12 to 14 at Comox Valley Fairgrounds.
