Steven Aanonson Despite the genre rift between the two acts (Melvins being sludgy crust-punk and Lustmord working the ambient- drone angle) they manage to play off each other spectacularly, as evidenced by the 22 minute mammoth of a title track. Definitely one of the better collabs of the decade. Andrew Pearson "Pink Bat" is, without a doubt, one of the best songs ever put to tape, even with the Japanoisy introduction

Sound Designer, Programmed By, Producer – B. Lustmord. Vocals, Guitar, Bass, Electronics – King Buzzo. Released in a gatefold cover with UV lacquer enhancements and printed inner sleeves.

Melvins released its second album for Atlantic in 1994, Stoner Witch. Due to its experimental nature, Melvins took its next album, Prick, to Amphetamine Reptile Records. In 2004, Melvins collaborated with ambient artist Lustmord for Pigs of the Roman Empire and with Dead Kennedys singer Jello Biafra for Never Breathe What You Can't See and Sieg Howdy! released in 2004 and 2005 respectively. Never Breathe What You Can't See was supported by a mini-tour with Jello Biafra and Adam Jones from Tool. In early 2006, Crover confirmed rumors of the members of the band Big Business joining the Melvins. We've kind of fused our two drum sets together, and we're going to try and do some crazy thing with it.

I never thought I'd see this album here. This is a really fantastic merging of two completely different styles, the sinister dark ambient of Lustmord and the swampy sludge metal of the Melvins. I am a fan of both bands and I think the collaboration showcases the best facets of each. The problem with both solo Melvins and solo Lustmord records is that they get a bit monotonous after a while, rarely varying from a single style. That is not a problem here, because as soon as you get tired of one, you are treated to the other.
