Dead Planet Society by Tiny Boats, released 04 February 2014 There's a beauty and danger in good enough And I'll die worrying that I'm up to snuff. There's things that I see and things in-between And the distance that comes with defeat. You were broken down on the shoulder in the rain I was walking backwards up the road Then you told me to climb in, dry off and have a bite to eat. I dropped my thumb and now we're not alone. You took your life inside your hands as you rolled a cigarette. It's hard to find a friend, someone to hang your hat on Who sticks with you even when they're gone. Bad habits they die hard, but you kicked your cigarettes. And In the five years since you left I think I finally cleared my head. And our parents, they are pleased because we both have new degrees And bright young families And now we've reached a milestone, the day our lives are not our own.

13 is the sixth studio album by English alternative rock band Blur, released on 15 March 1999. Jettisoning the Britpop sound of Blur's early career, 13 explores experimental, psychedelic and electronic music. Recording took place from June to October 1998 in London and Reykjavík. The album marks a departure of the band's longtime producer, Stephen Street, with his role being filled by William Orbit.
Blur is the fifth studio album by the English rock band Blur, released on 10 February 1997 by Food Records. Blur had previously been broadly critical of American popular culture and their previous albums had become associated with the Britpop movement, particularly Parklife (1994), which had helped them become one of Britain's leading pop acts. In a November 1996 video interview, Rowntree claimed, "It's a much more aggressive record in many ways as well as a more emotional record. I think the music we're making now is the music that we've always wanted to make but got distracted from in a wa. Artwork and packaging.
Blur are an English rock band formed in London in 1988. The group consists of lead Damon Albarn, guitarist/vocalist Graham Coxon, bassist Alex James and drummer Dave Rowntree. Their debut album Leisure (1991) incorporated the sounds of Madchester and shoegazing. Following a stylistic change influenced by English guitar pop groups such as the Kinks, the Beatles and XTC, Blur released Modern Life Is Rubbish (1993), Parklife (1994) and The Great Escape (1995)
Even though it was released when I was only twenty months old, as a twenty year old two decades down the line Blur's debut album still hits the bullseye of my musical radar like no other. It is a record that has often been swept aside as an untimely release that jumped on the "Manchester" wave a little too late; even Damon Albarn has added ammunition to the firing line, having referred to it as simply "awful". Think Tank is certainly not a rock record. It's marks the end of Blur guitar-led riffs, replaced instead with Albarn's emerging sense of musical inspiration now unfettered with the departure of American-rock influenced Coxon. For a band whose previous output has relied to heavily on the 'Best of British' as influence, Albarn uses Think Tank to quietly ditch this approach.
Blur are two entirely different bands depending on which side of the Atlantic you're currently standing. Stateside, the London four-piece are mostly known as one of the more visible Britpop outfits of the '90s and the primary band of Gorillaz mastermind Damon Albarn. Blur are one of the most iconic and culturally significant bands of the past quarter-century, responsible for penning generation-defining anthems and giving a post-modern voice to the working class. Now with their long-awaited reunion album placed firmly within their discography, it's clear they're continuing to fearlessly push forward.
