Its final two songs are bonus studio tracks that are covers, neither of which appeared on a Ramones album previously. is originally by Motörhead, from the group's album 1916; the song was written as a tribute to the Ramones.

The original Ramones album cover was also inspired by the Beatles, but it was scrapped for the now-iconic band shot taken by Roberta Bayley, which shows Johnny Ramone slyly slipping us the middle finger. An amalgam of tongue-in-cheek topics filled Ramones’ track listing. The Dolls’ influence can also be witnessed in a 1975 promotional video for the Ramones where Joey starts off Loudmouth with an opening line delivered in the style of Dolls singer David Johansen. Though the Ramones were a no-nonsense, razor-edged act, a softness was prevalent at the band’s core. I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend remains one of Joey Ramone’s signature vocal tracks and epitomizes his identity as a lonely heart and gushing romantic.

Between 1993 and 2000, a series of Ramones covers albums were released by Selfless Records (later Clearview Records), an independent record label based in Garland, Texas specializing in punk rock, on which bands influenced by seminal punk group the Ramones performed cover versions of entire Ramones albums.

From its first defiant line, "Jesus died for somebody's sins, but not mine," the opening shot in a bold reinvention of Van Morrison's Sixties garage-rock classic "Gloria," Patti Smith's debut album was a declaration of committed mutiny, a statement of faith in the transfigurative powers of rock & roll. This album documents one of the most elaborate self-mythologizing schemes in rock, as David Bowie created the glittery, messianic alter ego Ziggy Stardust ("well-hung and snow-white tan"). The glam rock Bowie made with guitarist Mick Ronson on tracks like "Hang on to Yourself" and "Suffragette City" is an irresistible blend of sexy, campy pop and blues power.
