Here's the details of the sessions from the book with the Chained to a Memory Bear Family box: May 14, 1966, Decca Studio, West Hampton, London, p. Dick Glasser, personnel: Don & Phil Everly (they did all vocals, but did not play any guitar on any of these tracks), Jimmy Page - g, John Paul Jones - b, Andy White -d, Arthur Greenslade - keys, 'other details unknown'. Two more songs were cut on June 3 to complete the album, same studio, producer, both engineers, but these players: Don & Phil Everly, Burton, Campbell, Lacy, Lanier, Slater, Randi, and with Bud Coleman on guitar (also the overdubs above) and Leslie Milton on drums. Songs: Pretty Flamingo (Mark Barkan) and Somebody Help Me (Jackie Edwards), these being covers of course of Manfred Mann and Spencer Davis Group 1966 hits.
The 1966 album Two Yanks in England was recorded in England with The Hollies, who also wrote and composed many of the album's songs. The Everlys' final US top 40 hit, "Bowling Green," was released in 1967. By the end of the 1960s, the brothers had returned to country rock, and their 1968 album, Roots, was hailed by some critics as "one of the finest early country-rock albums
The Everly Brothers is the 1958 eponymous debut album of close harmony rock and roll duo The Everly Brothers. The album peaked at No. 16 on Billboard's "pop albums" chart and launched three very successful singles. Originally on the Cadence label, (CLP-3003), the album was re-released on LP in 1988 by EMI and on CD in 2000 by Emporio Records. It was re-released again in 2009 on 180-gram vinyl by Doxy music.

So Lonely" and "Hard Hard Year," in particular, have a lot more force, transforming the tunes from decent Hollies album tracks to excellence. Because so much of the material is non-original, this couldn't be placed in the top rank of Everly Brothers recordings. But it is a good effort that shows them, almost ten years after "Bye Bye Love," still at the top of their game and still heavily committed to a rock & roll sound.
