How Do You Do It?" was the debut single by Liverpudlian band Gerry and the Pacemakers. The song reached number one in the UK Singles Chart on 11 April 1963, where it stayed for three weeks. The song was written by Mitch Murray, who offered it to Adam Faith and Brian Poole but was turned down. George Martin of EMI decided to pick it up for the new group he was producing, the Beatles, as the A-side of their first record

In that time they practised six songs, including How Do You Do It. John took the lead. They didn't like doing it, but we made a good record. George Martin Anthology  . The recording of How Do You Do It is a testament to how professional The Beatles were even at this early stage in their career. They didn’t like the song (with good reason) and yet they did a fantastic job recording what would easily have been their first hit single as surely as it was for Gerry & The Pacemakers.

wish I knew how you do it to me. but I haven't a clue.

The White album follows Sgt. Pepper, with its brilliant psychedelic cover. One can’t help but think that Richard Hamilton’s plain white cover was a response to that sleeve and everything else regarding Beatlemania excess. Inside it was another story. The gatefold is subdued but certainly more ornate than the plain white outer sleeve, but the real goodies are the four enclosed glossy photos and the 24″x36″ poster. These are rarely found in used copies, especially not in this good of condition  . Thanks mom for making my childhood musically wonderful. Thanks, James, for taking the time to put your words down on paper or whatever it is you do. Between Beatles and Bowie, there is no wrong. mcnultyfarrell says: August 23, 2015 at 9:15 pm. It’s a perfect album in every possible aspect.

How dare you fucking do this to us? He knew something about the drug: It was a powerful hallucinogen – termed a psychedelic – and it caused changes in thoughts, emotions and visions that frightened some observers. Psychologist Timothy Leary had famously been fired from Harvard University in 1963 for conducting experimental therapeutic sessions with the substance. The Beatles felt they needed one or two more tracks to complete the album. McCartney delivered Here, There and Everywhere – as beautifully sculpted as anything he had ever written or the Beatles had ever recorded – and Lennon brought in the angry and frightened She Said She Said, maybe the album’s most powerful track
