Just so you know I don't care much for reviews and especially for something like music (nor does martin gore I hear so there we are)! but here's one for those who want to read something....Anyway this album sounds great, if you like lots of texture and minutiae in your electronic music it's another of many albums out there worth a listen (tbh what music isn't textured or has some level of minutiae? just a thought!). and of course if you're into the depeche mode originals /their remixes in general then you will enjoy and once again just appreciate the art of the remix (or the 'depeche remix' as I hear that is a thing).some of the tracks I suppose are quite basic in a way, strong drum track to guide them along and whatnot that gives you that certain 'feel'. and you certainly would have heard many of the electronic sounds here as you would have elsewhere bar a couple of exceptions perhaps. but that doesn't matter, that's why people like music /electronic music right? plenty of enjoyment here, plus remember it is based off exciter which imho is one of the best albums depeche have done, personally one of my most treasured albums and 'eras' for me ever. (I might have been very young actually in 2000 era, but looking back at it there is some being very appealing about it, who knows? maybe my mind is making things up!)That aside, going back to the 'depeche remix' idea, these remixes probably aren't 'classic' depeche remixes by any stretch, Remixes 81-04 did a good job of that I'm sure (plus the later 81-11, and not forgetting the original singles with remixes galore plus the whole movement/support of remixes for depeche throughout their career etc. ;) ). but as I say it is very pleasant to listen to, and reminds you of how fun and invigorating electronic music can bebasically it is nice to hear an interesting bunch of sounds already based on a great album imo. also i don't like to pick favourites too much but if you have a good sound system and bass, the dead of night moon mix will shake you up!thanks for reading -kaleidosim edit: nearly forgot exciter remixes 2 ! - https://www.discogs.com/Depeche-Mode-Exciter-Remixes-Volume_2/release/1719664..plus who knows how many other remix albums there are of exciter alone! :-)
