Amore e non amore (Love and non-love) is a concept album by the Italian singer and songwriter Lucio Battisti. It was released in July 1971 by Dischi Ricordi. The album focuses on the contraposition of "love" and "not-love". As a result, the LP is split in two definite "sides", each one made up of four songs: The "non-love" side, characterised by a rock and roll music style and lyrics referring to "non-love" situations (. adultery, unrequited or obsessive love, et.

Arranged By, Written-By – Lucio Battisti. Photography By – Silvio Nobili. Original reissue of 1970. Matrix, Runout (Etching Side A): 8875045781 -1.

Originally released in 1971 (and reissued on Water in 2006), Lucio Battisti's seminal Amore e Non Amore was actually put out by his former label, Ricordi - who still had the rights to the songs - after Battisti and lyricist Mogol left to build up their own company, Numero Uno. Still, it stands as one of the artist's most important records, and it's a big step forward in Italian rock music.

If Lucio Battisti was Italy s answer to France s Serge Gainsbourg, then Amore E Non Amore is his own Histoire De Melody Nelson, a concept album that s widely regarded as a formative artistic achievement (if far from the most hit packed album) of his respective career. Both albums were released in 1971. For Battisti, the concept came from that dichotomous title: theres a rocky non-love side of the album, which has songs about obsession and adultery, and a love side of dreamy, prog-rock instrumentals.

AMORE e NON AMORE, Fano.

Lucio Battisti: Amore E Non Amore John Paul. 5, 5. Something of an anomaly within his voluminous catalog, Amore E Non Amore, originally released in 1971, finds Lucio Battisti moving away from the string-laden folk balladry and Italian pop on which he initially made a name for himself and into more abstract, almost experimental territory. Instead, the more one encounters the album, the more they begin to fully realize its brilliance and utter uniqueness not only for Battisti, but Italian music in general. While others were content to explore more progressive proclivities and sensitive artistry – to which Battisti would return in varying degrees with subsequent releases – Amore E Non Amore virtually defies description.
