As for Desmond, he and Mulligan recorded together frequently-in 1957 (Blues in Time), in 1962 (Two of a Mind) and in 1969 (Belleto). What's more, prior to this Newport performance, Brubeck, Desmond and Mulligan performed together in 1955 at the Newport Jazz Festival and in 1969 at a White House tribute to Duke Ellington.
