Snow is falling down on this glorious land colors fading, turning into white again To fallen heroes angels sting, they cry their winter tears endless mourning days will turn to years. So this is goodbye, I take leave of you and spread your wings and you will fly away now, fly away now. Nothing on earth stays forever but none of your deeds were in vain Deep in our hearts you will live again you're gone to the home of the brave

About Glory to the Brave. The title track of HammerFall’s debut album is dedicated to vocalist Joacim Cans' grandfather, who passed away shortly before the recording. The lyrics in the song is a tribute to long lost friends that had to leave this world way too early. Even though they are not around anymore, they have a place in my heart forever. He was the bravest man I ever met, that always did what his heart told him to do. -Joacim Cans. Glory to the Brave" Track Info. Release Date June 27, 1997. Cover By. El Peso del Alma by Mägo de Oz. Glory to the Brave is indeed a classic power metal record - no frills or progressive elements here, just speed-laden, melodic, grandiose anthems about honor, glory, and slaying dragons. And the group manages to generally steer clear of the campiness that plagued bands like Manowar. Of note are the pro-Crusades lyrics of "Steel Meets Steel," atypical sentiments in a genre known for rebelling against religion

This song is enough to reduce a cold-blooded serial killer to crying. It's personally dedicated to Joacim's grandfather (Klas Fors). But the song itself is dedicated to anyone who has died. Keyboards play through the beginning of the song. I personally think the low-tuned guitars take the mood from the song a little bit. But other than that, it's a perfect song. Overall, this is some of Hammerfall's strongest material.
