Roy Montgomery (born 1959) is a composer, guitarist and lecturer from Christchurch, New Zealand. Montgomery's mostly instrumental solo works have elements of post-rock, lo-fi, folk and avant-garde experimentation. His signature sound might be described as atmospheric or cinematic, often featuring complex layers of chiming, echoing and/or droning guitar phrases. He is currently head of the Environmental management department at Lincoln University in New Zealand.

Experimental guitarist Roy Montgomery was born in London but raised in Christchurch, New Zealand, forming his first band, the teen garage combo the Psychedeliks, in 1971.

For his new album, Suffuse, Montgomery took his discomfort with his own voice as an opportunity to open his music up to a roster of full-time singers. Built on R: Tropic of Anodyne’s outtakes, Suffuse boasts a different guest vocalist for each track. All are women, and Montgomery tailored each song’s instrumentals to each woman’s particular vocal style. Circuit des Yeux’s Haley Fohr opens the album with her formidable contralto, flooding a composition that doesn’t fall far from R: Tropic of Anodyne’s severity

Genre: Psychedelic Rock. Montgomery's decision to collaborate with guest vocalists was a wise one, as he realizes that his own voice has its limitations, and while his guitar techniques are engrossing enough to render vocals unnecessary, the singers on Suffuse seem to understand what his work is all about, and their presence is inextricable from the album.

True is an album by guitarists Chris Heaphy and Roy Montgomery, released on 6 April 1999 through Kranky. Roy Montgomery/Chris Heaphy. Chicago, Illinois: Kranky.

The music on the recording is a collaboration between Roy Montgomery and his bandmate in Dissolve, Chris Heaphy, who created a series of tracks related to the performance of the play while working on another project. While what is presented here is relatively little in comparison to what was used in performance, the notion that a film might eventually be made from the play had not passed Montgomery by, and therefore he's issued this soundtrack just in case.

Refuse is a limited LP edition of tracks that didn't make Suffuse. They were made for specific vocalists, like the songs on Suffuse, but things didn't work out for some reason or another. This LP is strictly limited to 70 copies.

Limiting this to 70 copies wasn't probably the best idea as Roy has passed the 70 listeners mark a while ago.

Someone, anyone, PLEASE rip this to the internet! IMPOSSIBLE to find!

If anyone has this I'll buy it from them, if this post is still up I'm still looking. I'll pay a good amount. Message or reply to me :)
