Endless Summer (Fennesz album). Endless Summer is an album by Austrian electronic music producer and guitarist Fennesz, released on 3 July 2001 by Mego. It brought him critical recognition and became "a hit in left-field electronica," influencing many artists. It was named the 14th best album of the decade by Tiny Mix Tapes, 26th by Pitchfork, and 41st by Resident Advisor.

We all remember Endless Summer as the Beach Boys album that brought them back to prominence in the 70s and set them on the road to being an oldies act. It was the perfect title for 60s California nostalgia, and it's the perfect title for this Austrian's fractured take on some of the same signifiers. The cover of Fennesz' Endless Summer features placid beach scenes right off an Ocean Pacific t-shirt, complete with warm sunset colors.

Fennesz first received widespread recognition for his 2001 album Endless Summer, released on Mego Records. He has collaborated with a number of artists, including Ryuichi Sakamoto, Jim O'Rourke, Ulver, David Sylvian, and King Midas Sound. In 1997, Fennesz released his debut full-length album Hotel Paral. lel, which saw him delve more explicitly into laptop production and early glitch aesthetics. He followed with the 1998 single Plays, which contained near-unrecognizable covers of the Rolling Stones' "Paint It Black" and the Beach Boys' "Don't Talk (Put Your Head on My Shoulder)".

With a title and cover artwork so obviously referring to the Beach Boys, one had to anticipate that this 2001 full-length CD by Fennesz would be more melodious than usual. It is, but you'll only get as close to surf music as the imagination of an experimental electronica artist from Vienna, Austria, will allow you to - and that's still quite far. Fennesz puts the emphasis on sunny melodies and a somewhat lighter atmosphere, but drowns them in glitch textures. The result strikes and disconcerts. Easy solutions do not fill this man's cup of tea.

comentando Endless Summer, CD, Album, MEGO 035. This is a strangely beautiful album, endearenly analogue and yet so nicely manipulated digitally- in the end leaving the perect balance of sharp and soft.
