A classic example of a private press release gaining a reputation far outside its initial impact, Fohhoh Bohob was recorded in enthusiastic amateur fashion by the three teenagers in the Patron Saints during early summer 1969 at member Paul D'Alton's house while the rest of his family was on vacation.

The Patron Saints are led by singer/guitarist and songwriter Eric Bergman who is himself one of the legitimate pioneers of the indie music movement. Bergman had the foresight to record and press the band's first full-length album in 1969, ultimately releasing 100 copies to radio stations, friends and fans of the band. As a special treat for Fohhoh/Proto Bohob fans, there's also an early '70s demo recording by original Patron Saint and Fohhoh Bohob co-writer, the late Jon Tuttle, which was given the "Beatles-Free As A Bird" treatment, . other instruments were added to Jon's demo to make it a finished production. Time And Place" is expertly produced, blending classic textures and tones in contemporary settings.
A classic example of a private release gaining a reputation far outside its initial impact, Fohhoh Bohob was recorded in enthusiastic amateur fashion by the three teenagers in the Patron Saints during early summer 1969 at member Paul D'Alton's house while the rest of his family was on vacation. As explained by de facto bandleader Eric Bergman in the liner notes to the 2007 reissue on Time-Lag, the goal of the Patron Saints was to get something out on their own, even though the trio could only afford a quick pressing of 100 copies. Nearly 40 years on, the perfect charm of Fohhoh Bohob - a phrase the original liner notes claims means "greetings of the mouth" - remains immediate and intact.
