The Rolling Stones is the debut album by the Rolling Stones, released by Decca Records in the UK on 16 April 1964. The album is included in Robert Dimery's 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die.

The Stones' most downbeat, druggy album, with new guitarist Mick Taylor stretching into jazz and country. Key Track: "Brown Sugar" was the big hit, but "Sway" is one of the band's spookiest pro-evil anthems. Best Keith Moment: His guitar battle with Taylor throughout "Bitch. Their great R&B album – by now the Stones could write their own classics as well as pick them. Mick struts through the grooves with a sullen edge of seduction, his voice dripping with sex, while Keith and Brian keep hitting new twin-guitar highs. Key Track: "Satisfaction" – if they quit the day after they cut this, they'd still be legends.

The early 60s blues scene was a purists’ movement, but their second album demonstrates how eclectic and boundary-blurring the early Stones were, boldly defining a space of their own somewhere between blues, rock’n’roll and soul, amping up the pace and the attitude of each to thrilling effect. 10. Blue & Lonesome (2016). At the point where even the most committed fan despaired of them ever making an unequivocally great album. But in truth, it suited them. Virtually from the moment they started writing songs, Jagger and Richards were drawn to darkness: certainly, they were better at depicting decay and decadence than delivering pie-eyed hippy beatitudes.

Truth And Lies’: Tyler Bryant & The Shakedown Prove Rock Is Alive And Well. Differences between the UK and US versions of Aftermath. Aftermath was The Rolling Stones’ fourth album in the UK, where it reached N. after being released by Decca Records on 15 April 1966. In the US, however, it was released two months later, on 20 July, by London Records. After entering the Billboard chart on 9 July, at N. 17 (the highest new entry of the week – four places ahead of The Beatles’ Yesterday And Today) the album would spend six weeks climbing the charts on the way to its US peak of N., on 13 August, nestling just one place behind The Beatles

The British version of the Stones' first album has a nearly identical cover to its American equivalent, issued six weeks later, but a slightly different song lineup. it's the long version, with the break that was cut from the single, but the British LP and the original late-'80s Decca .

and the new millennium that still sees them doing great live shows. The last official album was A Bigger Bang from 2005, and they've more or less stopped making new stuff since. The Beatles quit the concerts to concentrate on the studio. The Stones, being the live band they always were, quit the studio to concentrate on the concerts.

The album stayed at N. in the UK for twelve weeks during 1964, and is a cornerstone of their success. The photo for the album cover was shot by Nicholas Wright. The Rolling Stones Q&A.
