To my surprise one hundred stories high People getting loose now, getting down on the roof Folks screaming, out of control It was so entertaining when the boogie started to explode I heard somebody say (Burn, baby, burn) Disco inferno (Burn, baby, burn) Burn that mother down (Burn, baby, burn) Disco inferno (Burn, baby, burn) Burn that mother down (Burning) Satisfaction came in. a chain reaction I couldn’t get enough, so I had to self-destruct The heat was on, rising to the top Everybody is going strong And that is when my spark got hot I heard somebody say (Burn, baby, burn) Disco inferno (B. .

Like many of their early Atlantic releases That’s Where The Happy People Go was recorded at a fever pitch. This song is also a great example of the Trammps’s almost manic intensity. The lyrics here do provide a sense of balance and normalcy however. Basically it’s a about a pretty boring guy who decided to kick the blues and head to the disco. Very few songs of the era capture the happiness and love of music as well as this 1976 single does. This track, released in 1976, also ended up being the flip side of the 1977 45 issue of Disco Inferno. This track also is a rather lengthy album cut as well. On that version, it begins with an overblown string and piano interlude and then launches into that great horns and guitar intro. The album version also offers more of Jimmy Ellis’s asides.
