Live at Woodstock is a posthumous live album by Jimi Hendrix released on July 6, 1999. The album documents most of Hendrix's performance with his band Gypsy Sun and Rainbows at Woodstock Festival on August 18, 1969. Many of the tracks on this album were released in 1994 on Woodstock. As with the earlier release, rhythm guitarist Larry Lee's medley of "Gypsy Woman" with "Aware of Love" (both songs originally by The Impressions) and his "Mastermind" are not included.

It first appeared on their 1967 debut album Are You Experienced and was issued as their third single in the U. S. with the alternate spelling. It is one of Hendrixs best-known songs and was performed in concerts throughout his career.

In August 1994, MCA Records released Jimi Hendrix: Woodstock, a single-disc collection of highlights from Hendrix's legendary closing set at Woodstock. Less than a year later, Al Hendrix won the rights to his son's recordings, and his company, Experience Hendrix, began reissuing definitive masters of Jimi's catalog. In the summer of 1999, Experience Hendrix rolled out Live at Woodstock, which features the entire set over the course of two discs. He had disbanded the Experience only eight weeks before and was teamed with players who wanted to follow him, no matter where he went.

As soon as the release of the original triple Woodstock album came out; of which the last fourteen minutes closed side six of this legendary soundtrack. Jimi is rather happy, has a lot of fun on stage and the set he played with his band is just INCREDIBLE. Be aware though that I am biased.
