Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach (8 March 1714 – 14 December 1788), also formerly spelled Karl Philipp Emmanuel Bach, was a German Classical period musician and composer, the fifth child and second (surviving) son of Johann Sebastian Bach and Maria Barbara Bach. His second name was given in honor of his godfather Georg Philipp Telemann, a friend of Johann Sebastian Bach.
Listen free to Carlos Salzedo – Trio Lyra: Ravel, Debussy & Faure (Sonatine (arr. C. Salzedo): I. Modere, Sonatine (arr. Salzedo): II. Mouvement de menuet and more). Like many of his contemporaries, French-born Carlos Salzedo studied harp at the Paris Conservatory with the legendary French master Alphonse Hasselmans. His influence on today's harpists is evidenced in the enduring popularity of his technical approach to harp playing, commonly referred to as the "Salzedo Method. Salzedo detailed this approach with Lucile Lawrence in his Methods for the Harp, and in his Modern Study of the Harp, a collection of instructions and etudes which also serves as a reference guide for the many special effects he pioneered for the harp.
Carlos Salzedo (6 April 1885 – 17 August 1961) was a French harpist, pianist, composer and conductor. His compositions made the harp into a virtuoso instrument. He influenced many composers with his new ideas for the harp's sounds through his work with the International Composers' Guild. His many harp students performed in prominent orchestras.
Grove Music lists only one soprano soloist, and the score lists only une récitante, . 8. It is unclear why the first performance (and others since then) used two soloists, though it may have something to do with the range of the récitante part. Debussy became familiar with Rossetti's poetry through Sarrazin's Poètes modernes de l'Angleterre, published in the mid-1880s. php?title La damoiselle élue (Debussy, Claude)&oldid 2817845.
