Nassau is the second studio album by American indie rock band The Sea and Cake. It was released on March 27, 1995 by Thrill Jockey. A Man Who Never Sees a Pretty Girl That He Doesn't Love Her a Little" – 3:02. The World Is Against You" – 3:12. Lamonts Lament" – 3:55. Soft and Sleep" – 3:43. Alone, For the Moment" – 4:44. I Will Hold the Tea Bag" – 7:27.

The Sea and Cake bridge the gap between Brazilian music of the late 1960's, African influenced guitar lines, and independent pop. A sound that is entirely distinct, centered around the delicate guitar interplay of Sam Prekop and Archer Prewitt, driven by the versatile rhythms of bassist Eric Claridge and drummer John McEntire, and finally set apart by Prekop's vocals and obtuse lyrics. Contact The Sea and Cake.

Nassau is The Sea & Cake's sophomore album. It's the bands most rock influenced, and focused. I already mentioned that the music is laid-back and quirky, but their are a lot of other bands that can do that. What makes Nassau so special" Well It's a number of things. First off I'll mention the groovy rock influences. The opener "Nature Boy" is the best track off the album. It has an insanely groovy riff, and the song is very compelling and laid-back. Few bands can pull this off. The Sea & Cake can also move into different styles, like the second track. The music presented here is quite simple.

We hope you guys are excited about the new album, if you haven't yet, listen to the first single "Any Day" no. .
