Donnacha Costello Dublin, Ireland. LIke tman1015, I am a little scared of this album. It is a deeply shocking and accurate musical portrayal of senile dementia -inasmuch as I've (sadly) observed members of friends and family become gradually subsumed by it. Yet it is captivating, there are many moments of beauty along the way.

The light blue side of the record is deep, nasty minimal techno. It runs at around 122bpm. The highlight of that track for me is the thick bass stabs hitting at REALLY low frequencies. This track is ideal in an opening set where you're trying to create a really dark underground vibe. Out of Costello's entire color series released in 2004, I would argue this one here is the strongest release, with "Grape" and "Green" also being top contenders.

This "blue" 12" reminds me of Plastikman's consumed project; very low key minimal with dark undertones. Excellent lengthy 2-track release. Perfect amount of hall reverb used sparingly, along with minimal percussion.
