Kamikaze 1989 (Original Soundtrack Music) (LP, Album). GREAT soundtrack composed by Edgar Froese. Side B, specially, features great songs that can make us think from where Boards of Canada could have found inspiration. Amazing! Side A has a more pulsing ambience, as persecution feeling. If you are looking for some different sound in Edgar Froese discography, try to hear this along with excellent "Ages". Froese here is full of grace,no doubt! I haven't seen the Fassbinder film, but after hearing that, I'd like it!!!

Reste album: Artist - Edgar Froese mp3. Album - Reste mp3. Year - 2002. Tracks: Maroubra Bay Part 2 Pantha Rei (Rare). Krismopompas’ from the Kamikaze 1989 soundtrack by Edgar Froese(Tangerine Dream). This came out in 1982 and sounds a bit like a John Carpenter soundtrack.
If you have ever seen the screwy movie and were miffed by the shrinking budget- it's like they ran out of money halway through- you would have had to have noticed the far better soundtrack. Actually for a more comercial sounding abum with actual tunes this stands out as one of Edgar's finest moments and his most ignored

NotesAll music composed, arranged and produced by Edgar Froese
Recorded at the Amber Studio, Berlin 1982/1995
Remastered at Eastgate Studios, Vienna 2007
Original version on Virgin Records 1982
Slightly reworked version of the original album. All tracks of the original release are featured, though in a different order. The track Snake Bath is cut down by about half its length and ends quite abruptly. According to Eastgate Music "the abrupt ending of the song is no mistake, because it has exactly the length which it had in the film. It was not modified because of reasons of authenticity -- it's film music and was used in the film like that. The director Mr. Fassbinder was a very unusual man."
