Milestones (CL 1193) is a studio album by American jazz trumpeter and composer Miles Davis, recorded with his "first great quintet" augmented as a sextet. It was released in 1958 by Columbia Records. Tenor saxophonist John Coltrane's return to Davis' group in 1958 coincided with the "modal phase" albums: Milestones and Kind of Blue (1959) are both considered essential examples of 1950s modern jazz. Davis at this point was experimenting with modes – scale patterns other than major and minor.

Porgy and Bess (Miles Davis album). Porgy and Bess (CL 1274) is a studio album by jazz musician Miles Davis, released in March 1959 on Columbia Records. The album features arrangements by Davis and collaborator Gil Evans from George Gershwin's 1935 opera of the same name. The album was recorded in four sessions on July 22, July 29, August 4, and August 18, 1958, at Columbia's 30th Street Studio in New York City.

Big Fun is a compilation album by American jazz musician Miles Davis. It was released by Columbia Records on April 19, 1974, and compiled recordings Davis had made in sessions between 1969 and 1972. Largely ignored in 1974, it was reissued on August 1, 2000, by Columbia and Legacy Records with additional material, which led to a critical reevaluation. Big Fun presents music from three different phases of Miles Davis's early-seventies "electric" period.

In 1985, Miles Davis began recording an album called Rubberband, which was set to be his first album for Warner Bros. Records following his departure from longtime label Columbia. That record was ultimately shelved; his first album for Warner would be 1986’s Tutu. Last year saw the title track to Davis’ album, Rubberband, released on an EP of the same name. Today, it’s been announced that Rubberband will now be released in its entirety, completed by the original producers-Randy Hall and Zane Giles-alongside Davis’ nephew, Vince Wilburn, J. who performed on the original album sessions

Формируйте собственную коллекцию записей Miles Davis. One of the Top 10 Miles albums. First two songs are recorded stereo, but sounds like quasi mono. Vinyl is musical, detailed with space. Chambers bass is pretty big. Masterpiece series offer very good value. My US pressing is flat and quiet.
