Philip David Charles Collins LVO (born 30 January 1951) is an English drummer, singer, songwriter, t, record producer, and actor. He was the drummer and later became singer of the rock band Genesis, and is also a solo artist. Between 1982 and 1989, Collins scored three UK and seven US number-one singles in his solo career
Both Phil Collins and Mark Mancina did a wonderful job of harnessing the "wildness" of this film and put it to music. Collins has proven with this album that he has not lost a step. Channeling his inner "tribal" child, he cranked out some of the most memorable songs in Disney history as of late. You'll Be In My Heart," "Son Of Man" and "Two Worlds" are epic pop tunes. Of course, no album about Tarzan would be complete without his signature yell. You'll find it at the end of the album on the "Two Worlds" finale. If you enjoy tribal music, percussion, or simply a lot of well-choreographed noise, the "Tarzan" soundtrack will be a perfect additon to your collection.

Meanwhile, Phil Collins' songs are surprisingly strong, much more melodic and appealing than anything he's done since But Seriously. The main theme, "Two Worlds," is a particular standout, eerily echoing his former colleague Peter Gabriel's worldbeat explorations at times, but all of the songs (exception: "Trashin' the Camp") are quite strong. The only problem is, they're repeated and repeated and repeated.

Collins’ 1993 album, Both Sides, written in the wake of a marriage-ruining affair with an old flame, was his best and most personal since Face Value. That’s the real me, he says, implying that his biggest albums weren’t. But it underperformed, and didn’t change anyone’s minds about him. From then on, despite successes such as his Oscar-winning soundtrack for Disney’s Tarzan, he felt that he couldn’t set the record straight. It was like coming out of a toilet with toilet paper on your foot and trying to walk elegantly whilst trying to get it off, he says. I think that’s one of the reasons.
