Byrds is the twelfth and final studio album by the American rock band the Byrds and was released in March 1973 on Asylum Records (see 1973 in music). It was recorded as the centerpiece of a reunion between the five original band members: Roger McGuinn, Gene Clark, David Crosby, Chris Hillman, and Michael Clarke. The last time that all five members had worked together as the Byrds was in 1966, prior to Clark's departure from the band.

Compilation album by The Byrds. In the Beginning is a compilation album by the American folk rock band The Byrds and was released in August 1988 by Rhino Records. The album consists of demos, some of which were previously unreleased, recorded during 1964 at World Pacific Studios in Los Angeles, before the band had secured a recording contract with Columbia Records. Material dating from the. band's pre-fame rehearsal sessions at World Pacific had previously appeared on the 1969 album Preflyte, but In the Beginning provides a more comprehensive overview of this period than the earlier compilation.
The Byrds (formed in Los Angeles, California, in 1964) were an American rock band. The Byrds were popular and influential through the latter part of the 1960s and early 1970s. Lineup: Jim (Roger) McGuinn - vocals, 12-string guitar. The most interesting thing is that all of the original Byrds re-united in 1973 for an album, but it was panned just as well (unjustly), and that was the last we ever saw of the Byrds. The Byrds disbanded in 1973.
The BYRDS were part of the culture revolution and the 60's "anti - everything". The harmonizing was fantastic and instrumentation made them a powerful band that got the message out to everyone. Having Bob Dylan as the author to a few of their songs made it even better. As with all of the original Album Classics box sets, there isn't an additional booklet with liner notes or elaborate packaging - each CD is in a cardboard sleeve with the original album art. You do get each of these albums + bonus tracks that were released on previous remasters. The set starts off with 1968's 'Sweetheart of the Rodeo', and includes 'Dr. Byrds & Mr. Hyde,' 'Ballad Of Easy Rider,' 'Byrdmanics,' and 'Further Along
