Wes Minster Five – Sticks and stones – YouTube. The WES MINSTER 5 did sessions for Carnival records providing ‘Blue Beat’ backing for artistes such as Sugar and Dandy and Young Satch. We were the second line up to the original band. They were buddies with the ZOOT MONEY band. Interesting how people on the Internet forums etc think they know or guess who the singer was on Wes Minster 5’s ‘ Mickeys Monkey’ a Smokie Robinson hit. It was done very quickly by me Terry Webster and the band in between backing other artistes on the label. Just a rendition of favourite songs raw without any close scrutiny to the original unlike I would do these days.

Sticks and Stones (stylized as Sticks + Stones for its European release and Sticks & Stones for its North American and Australian release) is the debut studio album by English recording artist Cher Lloyd. It was released on 4 November 2011, through Syco Records. Lloyd co-wrote five songs and worked with various producers and songwriters for her first full-length release, including The Runners, Kevin Rudolf, and Savan Kotecha, among others. Lloyd herself called the album a "jukebox.

The rhyme persuades the child victim of name-calling to ignore the taunt, to refrain from physical retaliation, and to remain calm and good-living. The full rhyme is usually a variant of: Sticks and stones may break my bones But names will never harm me. The rhyme is an example of linguistic Siamese twins. Alexander William Kinglake in his Eothen (written 1830, published in London, John Ollivier, 1844) used "golden sticks and stones".
