Beyond Control has a very different origin story to their first album. Becoming Who We Are grew out of frontman Chad Gardner and the gang continuing to make music for the wider church, having left Mars Hill earlier that year. The debut was filled with songs to be sung together, re-workings of old hymns, honed over time and perfected with love. Two years on, the band are more free and independent than before, so the songs on Beyond Control have a very different feel to them. Beyond Control by Kings Kaleidoscope will be released June 24th.

Anybody else's second disc come bowed up slightly in the middle (causing a wooshing noise every rotation while playing)? Curious if this is quality control error as a byproduct of the second side being etched or if I'm just unlucky. Reply See 1 reply Notify me Helpful.
Dust is the second single from Kings Kaleidoscope’s second LP Beyond Control. The track originally included the extended outro Ride On Reprise, however, the two are split into separate tracks on the album. The song’s title refers to the idea that everything we work so hard to obtain will eventually be meaningless as dust

Riding the same wave of originality, Kings K offers listeners Beyond Control - a journey of depravity, redemption, hope, despair, regeneration and the effect of the gospel on the soul.
Well, in Beyond Control, Kings Kaleidoscope has given us the answer, and I don't know if it's the one that everyone (especially me) was expecting. You see, one of the things I loved about Becoming Who We Are is its sonic density and complexity. It was one of the most instantaneously grabbing albums I have ever listened to from a musical perspective. Beyond Control, on the other hand, strips a lot of that massive, epic sound away. Their previous efforts showed brief moments of this, but in Beyond Control there's this bouncy feeling that underlies most of the album's first half. It makes for a very interesting listen that is strange at first but addictive after a few times through.
