Aardvarck has always had a very simple but effective formula for making bright, quality techno. He choses simple but big fat sounds to make tracks like the happy grime standout of 'nosestep' and makes them work by just messing with them a little. Kutparra, the lead track seems to be a kind of tribute to the rich jazziness of Theo Parrish work, with massive blocks of warm chords, whilst Kutwell is made out of samples of big clavier riffs.

The album contains some ear-friendly piano/keyboard interplay as well as some good R&B guitar riffs and harmonic choruses. The low points: following the fashion of the early 70's, many tracks drag on far too long. Also, possibly because the dominant Hammond did not stand the test of time, the album unfortunately sounds quite outdated. Finally, the cuts that work best tend to be the less progressive ones. Overall, AARDVARK is an honest musical effort for the times, an interesting early art rock experiment with a slight progressive edge. The melody after that is well 60's with a few keyboards more 'calminhos' low one more the touched one for sensational Stan Aldous. The vocal of Dave Skillin and the battery of Frank Clark, they are not so virtuous, but they are good anyway. The final part reminded of me a little The Doors.

Tried and tested on the dancefloors of Amsterdam, these are sure fire ankle movers! Played by. Jaffa Surfa, Chamboche.
