D'espairsRay (formerly stylized as DéspairsRay or +DéspairsRay+) was a Japanese visual kei rock band active from 1999 to 2011. The lineup of Hizumi on vocals, Karyu on guitar, Zero on bass and Tsukasa on drums remained the same, with the group having released four full-length records, three EPs and thirteen singles. Outside Japan, D'espairsRay have toured Europe and North America and had domestic releases in those territories.

The album has also been released in the United States at Hot Topic and other record stores. The album debuted at on the Oricon Charts with 4,032 copies sold. All lyrics written by Hizumi; all music composed by Karyu except Kohaku written and composed by Tsukasa.

Mirror is an effective and slightly camouflaged adaptation of Rammstein to Japanese soil. D'Espairs Ray make a nice job of hiding it, but the synths over the marching thunder of distortion in "Sixty Nine" totally give them away, even though it must be noted that the same song incorporates the very obvious Marilyn Manson vocalizing, for one, and generally the band spans a lot of influences, down to ultra-heavy Europop in "Kogoeru Yoru Ni.
