Buddy Hollys backing with the London Philamonic Orchestra is by far the best even above Elvis and Roy Orbisons attempts. Well done to everyone involved this should go to N. Buddy would have been very proud and pleased, Norman Petty take note this is how it should be done. True Love Ways almost takes your breath away. My comments are factual technical and nothing to do with the production, recording or content. Not since the EMI Parlophone gaff and Royal Mail and the Beatles stamps and the wrong meaning of £ used has there been such an insulting joke and misuse, wrong use of a label logo as there has on this project and the use of the UK British Decca Record Co logo on a USA American Decca product. Both companies originally owned by Edward Lewis were separated and Lewis sold the American arm in the mid 1930's to Jack Kapp so that he, Lewis, had money to work on is Raidar/Sonar projects.Kapp sold out American Decca to MCA, (American Decca already owned the studios and land where Universal were in Hollywood, so one can see why the union was a good one and MCA bought American Decca out).American Decca releases in the UK came out on Brunswick as that label was not permitted here. It gets worse because USA Brunswick releases came out in the UK via Coral, New York Coral were licensed by Vogue France both for the USA and UK. Vogue used UK Decca to press their UK product for them Vogue, Vogue Coral, Vogue Pop until they went to Pye in the early 1960's.Whoever at UMG thought they were being cleaver etc should be sacked, it's wrong very wrong and looks stupid. There are various choices UMG could have used for this project:1. Vogue-Coral 2. Coral (UK licence)3. Brunswiick (UK Licence)4. American Decca (1st UK licence and logos)5. MCANOT UK Decca record Co, no connection no affinity for over 80 years! Again pen-pushers trying to change history to suit, be sure your sins will find you out!Just as crass is the USA American Decca "unbreakable 45" in a CD case tray with a white press in button to release it! What's that all about, looks crazy.Get your facts right label correctly or even better, put the relevant and correct logos along the bottom Vogue, Vogue-Coral, Coral, Brunswick, MCA, American Decca, and pay whoever you have to pay to use what, and never confuse vinyl with CD format. (That UK British Decca logo and script dates back to 1956-7, on sleeves and in shops as promo display cards, heavily used in the Terry Dene film)
