Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons' last studio album, Further, came out in 2010. They released a live album called Don't Think in 2012. In 2011, they did the soundtrack for the film Hanna. Last year, they teamed up with Miguel and Lorde for a track off the Hunger Games: Mockingjay Pt. 1 soundtrack. In an interview, Tom Rowlands said, "The most important feature of the album is that it connects with us emotionally in some way. We hope for finding a new way to make you feel. We dream of new sounds and different frames

The wait hasn't paid off, in a sense, because hype turned Echoes into a monolithic event when, in truth, it turns out that only half of it proves "House of Jealous Lovers" to be no fluke. The lesser half nearly chokes the album, as it casts the Rapture as the same rickety band that it was before the rebirth. Open Up Your Heart," daringly placed as the third track, is a hollow, momentum-killing piano ballad; on "Love Is All," multiple Southern boogie elements prove to be a mismatch; "Infatuation" closes the album with a murmur

The Echoes were an English musical group established in London in early 1960 by singer Chris Wayne for the Johnny Preston, Conway Twitty and Freddy Cannon tour of Great Britain. The Echoes were originally made up from "The Spacemen skiffle group," which were Joe Brown (singer) skiffle group. Joe was a regular on Boy Meets Girls, a television show with Marty Wilde. The Spacemen had no other work while Joe was contracted to do the show, so they were able to do this tour with Chris Wayne as "The Echoes". Original line up was: Chris Wayne (vocals), Tony Oakman (rhythm guitar),. Got to Run, Thanks a Lot released: 1966. Don't You Believe Them, I'll Get Over You released: 1964. My Little Girl, More released: 1964.

Born In The Echoes, the eponymous track from the album, is more nostalgia than novelty. It feels old and tired, a repeated attempt at ’80s synth rock that just didn’t quite make the cut 30 years ago, and still doesn’t today. Beck’s voice subtly floats atop the driving drum pattern and hypnotic bassline, proving that this pairing wasn’t just for the sake of getting his name on the tracklist. In an interview back in April, Tom Rowlands said, The most important feature of the album is that it connects with us emotionally in some way. We dream of new sounds and different frames. We have worked with some guest singers but mostly the album is pure Chemical Brothers. In response to the first part, I’d agree.
