DRED is a metalcore music artist. DRED IN THE HEAD - Yaggfu front - 1994 UK 4-track Vinyl Single - DJ PROMO. NM 12"~DRED SCOTT~MARLEY MARL~Nutin' Ta Lose~~Duck Ya Head~~.
Entirely self-produced, Dred Scott delivers smooth, jazzy beats reminiscent of A Tribe Called Quest. Nothing wrong with his lyrics and emcee skills either. Why this album is so underappreciated is a mystery, but it deserves its props – that’s the reason for the high position on this list for one of Hip Hop’s best years. Top tracks: Back In The Day Check The Vibe Funky Rhythms Duck Ya Head. 14. Digable Planets – Blowout Comb. Like its predecessor Check Your Head, Ill Communication is not strictly a Hip Hop album, but a mash-up of styles with liberal doses punk-rock thrown in the mix. Never afraid to experiment and do exactly what they wanted, Beastie Boys stayed true to their punk-rock roots on this album. Ill Communication will not be for everybody, but it’s a classic in its own right, with massive appeal to other, non-Hip Hop audiences.
Head in the Clouds is the final push to that dream, pairing 88’s roster with some of the most distinctive voices in hip-hop right now for a collection of trap anthems, poolside bops, and starry-eyed ballads aimed to infiltrate the Top 100. Unfortunately, only a handful of the album’s 17 tracks stand on their own as singular works; the rest are stiff, boilerplate copies of songs by other artists currently racking up streams. The ones that do succeed sound like they were written purely for top-down twilight rides in the summertime. That’s the issue at the core of Clouds: Most of its songs sound too familiar. For an album that was created by 88rising as a means of promoting its talent, it provides very little opportunity for the label’s artists to have their own voice. The big-name features compound this problem, as they dictate the tone of the songs they appear on.
In the early 1970s, CBS (or Columbia as they are known in the US) had signed an enviable collection of artists. They covered the entire spectrum of music from Andy Williams to Black Widow, and all in between. The label released a number of samplers including the superbly expansive "The music people", a triple LP set featuring a wonderful cross section of artists. Among the artists signed to CBS were a significant number of bands and solo performers considered to be progressive
DRED 004 consists of six tracks in total - three that will appear on the vinyl release, followed by another three that will be digital-only exclusives. Harsh’s productions caught John’s eye, or rather ear, after being sent to him last year and resulted in this release of six solid prime time deep house stompers. DIMENSIONS is dripping with sci-fi moments yet firmly rooted in the dirt and soil, bound to create memorable dance floor moments in 2018. released March 23, 2018.
