Cream were a British rock band formed in London in 1966. The group consisted of lead vocalist/bassist Jack Bruce, guitarist/vocalist Eric Clapton and drummer Ginger Baker. The group's third album, Wheels of Fire (1968), is the world's first platinum-selling double album. The band is widely regarded as the world's first successful supergroup. In their career, they sold more than 15 million records worldwide

Goodbye (also called Goodbye Cream) is the fourth and final studio album by Cream, with three tracks recorded live, and three recorded in the studio. It was released in Europe by Polydor Records and by Atco Records in the United States, debuting in Billboard on 15 February 1969. It reached number one in the United Kingdom and number two in the US. A single, "Badge", was subsequently released from the album a month later. The album was released after Cream disbanded in November 1968.

Cream is not only one of the greatest rock supergroups of all time (as well as one of the first), but one of the best classic rock bands of all time as well. Here is Ranker's list of the best Cream albums, ranked from best to worst. The British band formed in 1966, mixing an appreciation for American blues music with a hard rock edge and a dose of psychedelic sound.

In reality Cream also endured a long period of internal friction. That tension only made them sound better. Disraeli Gears would go Platinum, as would their third album Wheels of Fire. This double is half-studio (London, August ‘67) and half-live from the West Coast (March ’68), where the San Francisco elite (the Dead and Airplane included) feted Cream. Pappalardi was now brought in to produce and he extracted marvellous performances.

Cream's debut album, Fresh Cream, was recorded and released in 1966. The album reached number six on the UK charts and number 39 in the United States. It mainly consisted of blues covers, including "Four Until Late," "Rollin' and Tumblin'" (Muddy Waters), "Spoonful" (Howlin' Wolf), and "I'm So Glad," (Skip James). Cream's third release, Wheels of Fire (1968) topped the American charts. Wheels of Fire showcased Cream moving slightly away from the blues and more towards a progressive rock style highlighted by odd time signatures and various orchestral instruments.

Can anyone speak to the sound quality of the records in this set?

Zugar
I find the masterings excellent. Quiet vinyl, good soundstage and clarity.Only gripe is it's very hard to get the LPs in and out of the box. Quite tight.

Wal
Thanks! I appreciate the info! . . . .

Rocky Basilisk
Overall sound quality is quite good. Sourced from hi-res files. Pressings are good, flat and quiet. All albums are stereo, no mono mixes. If you don`t own any Cream on vinyl, worth picking up.
