Outre Mer is Garage a Trois' third album and the soundtrack to the French film of the same name. The prevalence of Mike Dillon's vibraphone gives much of the album a great late-night jazz noir feel, something like a leaner version of Tuatara's first album. There are a couple departures, as on the Latin-sounding "Merpati" where the vibes are traded for conga, and the rollicking sax and percussion of "Circus.

GAT) is a quartet including drummer Stanton Moore, saxophonist Skerik, vibraphone and percussionist Mike Dillon and keyboardist Marco Benevento. They play a variety of music including rock, funk and jazz. Garage A Trois was originally a trio founded by Moore, eight-string guitarist Charlie Hunter, and Skerik. It formed during the 1998 recording of Stanton Moore's debut All Kooked Out!, a session that also yielded Garage A Trois' debut recording Mysteryfunk.

Garage A Trois: Outre Mer by Michael McCaw, published on August 26, 2005. Outre Mer, which opens the album, is a prime example where Dillon creates a bed that Hunter weaves in and out of, sounding akin to a balafon or kalimba. Skerik, whose profile has been steadily rising, contributes his own idiosyncratic phrases and continues to impress, working in the same space as Karl Denson but with more variety and vigor. The album flows with a constant groove that should attract a great deal of listeners, but it's complex and thoughtful enough that it deserves a detailed listen as well.

Outre Mer is a music studio album recording by GARAGE A TROIS (Jazz ive Rock) released in 2005 on cd, lp, vinyl and/or cassette. On Outre Mer ("overseas"), Garage a Trois complete their maturation from a nom de plume used for goofing off between serious sessions and into a full-blown project in their own right. The spaciness of the debut EP has faded away, as has the improvisational approach and mild aimlessness, and in its place stands a set of much more polished compositions.
