Experimental Folk Metal, Symphonic Metal. Kalki Avatara Discography. Mantra for the End of Times.
Undoubtedly skilful in design (drums are provided by former Fleshgod Apocalypse skinbeater Aeshla, with Hour Of Penance bassist Nighthorn present as well) Mantra For The End Of Times is an interesting piece of music, but I do think that Kalki Avatara’s style is more suited to longer tracks than these four-five minute pieces. It’s certainly worthy of a hearing from all, however, yet for me whilst this may well bear fruit in the future it’s a little too meandering and aimless at present to recommend very highly
Mantra for the End of Times.
In case someone expects some kind of metal inspired mantra or some insights into the end of times on this recording, then this person will most certainly be disappointed by the performance by this Italian band, because neither of these aspects have found their way into the music.

Kalki Avatara supports the speeding of the end of Kali-Yuga process. Every vicious and corrupt act is just a step nearer to the rebirth. Every effort to save the debris of our civilzation is a waste of time. The righteous shall preserve uncorrupted his virtue, his honour, his solitude, and he shall not conform nor fight evil, but let it act undisturbed. Kalki will give birth from the ruins to a new mankind. Warning: listening to this music in altered psychic state may induce tachicardy and temporary sense of derealization. In a good way. It works so well that I listen to this all the time.
Kalki Avatara, and this is another main difference, is considerably less metal than the other two aforementioned bands. Mantra for the End of Times offers an approach of contrasts. While the metal guitars play an important role, the intensity takes a dive again and again. Instrumental interludes, often without any amount of heaviness, tend to lead the general dynamic astray, and into a direction that not all fans of the metal genre might find pleasant or interesting
