Fire" is a song by Irish rock band U2. It is the fifth track on the band's 1981 album, October, and was released that year as the album's first single. The October album version of "Fire" was recorded at Compass Point Studios in the Bahamas while U2 took a break from the Boy Tour in April 1981. After its initial release, "Fire" was U2's first song to chart in the UK, where it managed to break the top 40, peaking at No. 35.
War is the third studio album by Irish rock band U2. It was produced by Steve Lillywhite, and was released on 28 February 1983 on Island Records. The album is regarded as U2's first overtly political album, in part because of songs like "Sunday Bloody Sunday" and "New Year's Day", as well as the title, which stems from the band's perception of the world at the time; lead vocalist Bono stated that "war seemed to be the motif for 1982.
Similar to U2 - The Unforgettable Fire, this version has a very clear shell, almost white. Catalog number 406 530 on cassette, 406 530-652 on artwork. 1984 Original Sound Recording made by Island Records Ltd.
The album ebbs and flows along the spectrum between the spiky, post-punk U2 of old and the impressionistic, Eno-assisted U2 they were yearning to become. Not only were U2 and Eno an odd match musically, but their personalities clashed in a remarkable way as well. So The Unforgettable Fire isn't U2's biggest commercial success (that would be The Joshua Tree) or its most rewarding artistic coup (Achtung Baby), but without it those records would not exist. It's a transitional album of the highest magnitude.
The album kicks off with the spiritual and uplifting track 'A Sort Of Homecoming' and it's fairly obvious from the start this is a departure in sound, if not style, from the bands three previous Steve Lillywhite produced efforts. Gone are the loud, brash guitars and thundering drums that have kicked off U2 albums previous and in their place are what sound like loosely pieced together soundscapes and sonic noodling. With the drums of Larry Mullen Jr. still leading the way and Bono waxing poetic about the great beyond, this is most certainly U2.

U2 released The Unforgettable Fire in 1985. The first portion of the album was recorded in 1984 at the famous Slane Castle in Ireland, yet the castle used for the album cover is not Slane Castle but Moydrum Castle also in Ireland. Here’s what the Moydrum Castle looks like from the same angl. he photograph is a virtual rip off of the cover of a 1980’s book In Ruins: The Once Great Houses of Ireland by Simon Marsden.
