Hail! Hail! Rock 'n' Roll is an album by Chuck Berry and soundtrack to the film of the same name, which was released in 1987 under record label, MCA. The album was recorded live at The Fox Theatre, St Louis, Missouri and Berry Park, Wentzville, Missouri on October 6 and October 16, 1986. The event was held to celebrate Berry's 60th birthday and it included several special guests.
This second volume of producer Steve Hoffman's discoveries in the Chess Records vaults features some less-prominent Chuck Berry tunes, again in the form of demos, unreleased alternate takes, and stereo remixes. Listeners are getting into collector territory here, but there are still some enjoyable examples of the Berry repertoire. 1. Ain't That Just Like a Woman.
Chuck Berry was almost 30 years old when he began writing and singing for, and about, Young America. He may have been old enough to father some of those who bought his Chess singles in their millions from the mid-50s onwards, but Chuck knew how to write about stuff kids could identify with: timeless songs, as pertinent to future generations as they were to those for whom they were initially created. Debate still rages about who is or isn’t the King Of Rock’n’Roll. There’s less debate about who is the King Of Rock’n’Roll Songwriters.

Chuck Berry, one of the founding fathers of rock 'n' roll, died on 18 March 2017 in Missouri, aged 90, just before the release of his final album 'Chuck. Born in St Louis, Missouri in 1926, he was introduced to Chess Records co-founder Leonard Chess by Muddy Waters. Berry was almost 29 years of age when he made his national and international breakthrough on Chess in 1955 with ‘Maybellene. Later added to the Grammy and Rock and Roll Halls of Fame, the song was the first in a series of brilliantly creative, perfectly formed and often wittily observed vignettes reflecting the lives of the newly-termed teenager
