Peripheral Vision is the second studio album by American rock band Turnover. Produced by Will Yip, the album was released on May 4, 2015 through Run for Cover Records. Following the release of their debut album Magnolia (2013), Turnover parted ways with original guitarist Kyle Kojan, replacing him with Eric Soucy. It was recorded at his studio, Studio 4, in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania.

Peripheral Vision, Turnover’s sophomore album, shows a switch in direction from 2013’s debut Magnolia. Replacing the original pop punk sound, this record is mostly described as dream pop. The addition of new guitarist Eric Soucy – who is not in the band anymore – was stated as a major influence on this change. Vocalist Austin Getz stated in an interview with The New Fury that the sound isn’t the only thing that’s evolved on Peripheral Vision. Just interpersonal relationships. I feel like Peripheral Vision is more about an intrapersonal relationship. The relationship I have with myself and kind of feeling a distance from the person who I thought I was and who I was becoming. Peripheral Vision Q&A. What have the artists said about the album? Bassist Danny Dempsey expressed his feelings about the change in sound in an interview with The New Fury. I feel like it’s more our sound.

But the second album from Virginia Beach's Turnover is worth approaching with an open mind. After starting off in 2009 as Saves the Day devotees, the quartet has morphed into a moody, atmospheric indie rock band, without losing its knack for hook. r stomach-turning lyrics in the Chris Conley tradition. Turnover just wrapped a tour with New Found Glory and people won't stop comparing them to Title Fight, but bassist Danny Dempsey wants a clean slate

Before hearing 'Peripheral Vision' in full, I was expecting to be sorely disappointed. The change in style the singles showed off made me worry that Turnover would pull a Title Fight - that is, to compromise songwriting and emotion in the attempt to sound more "mature". Thankfully, Turnover instead produced an album with a clear aesthetic change, while maintaining the strong songwriting and emotional weight of their past work. The opening track 'Cutting My Fingers Off' illustrates this change. In this way, Turnover still very much take from Emo without sounding like most music in the genre, in the same way they did on their previous album, Magnolia. Much of the success Turnover have in this aesthetic shift comes from Getz's vocal style itself, in that it works just as well if not better here without any major change in his delivery.
