sail away Ooh, well I know better now, I know better now Giving it all away Oh oh, I now better now, I know better now I've given it all away Went out in the world Too much for my nerves Well, only myself to blame See, I was just a boy And there was nobody else to blame I've done. all I can Now it's out of my hands Stand on my head and say Oh, I was just a boy Giving it all away Sail away, yeah sail away Oh, I know better now, I know better now Ain't gonna give it all away Oh oh, yeah yeah, I now better now, I know better now Ain't gonna give  . Leo Sayer was probably the last bloke to talk to Elvis Presley - and all because Sayer fell off a stage in Wisconsin. When touring the US in 1977, Sayer was in Memphis, all set to do a concert at the famous mid-south Coliseum where Elvis had performed some years earlier. 'But during the afternoon my body locked up in the dressing room,'' recalls Sayer. 'He got away with it, very clever,'' says Sayer, who was ripped off years earlier by a former manager, ex-pop star Adam Faith. 'It happens in this business,'' he says. 'The Rolling Stones were ripped off, so were the Beatles. Sayer had an album nine years ago called Voice In My Head, all the songs on which came to him this way. He says he has a photographic memory and can reproduce the songs later on a keyboard. He has been married once - to teenage sweetheart Janice - but has no children.

Leo Sayer (born Gerard Hugh Sayer; 21 May 1948) is a British-born singer-songwriter musician, and entertainer (now an Australian citizen and resident) whose singing career has spanned four decades. Sayer launched his career in the UK in the early 1970s and became a top singles and album act on both sides of the Atlantic in the 1970s. His first seven hit singles in the United Kingdom all reached the Top 10 – a feat first registered by his first manager, Adam Faith. His songs have been sung by other notable artists, including Cliff Richard's, "Dreamin'".

James Brown/Russell Smith's "Dancing the Night Away," with David Lindley's important and unobtrusive fiddle and steel guitar, and "Stormy Weather," the Tom Snow/Leo Sayer collaboration which opens the album, all work in unison, providing evidence that Sayer had superstardom just within his grasp.
