Live at the Blue Note is a live album by American pianist, composer and bandleader Duke Ellington recorded at The Blue Note nightclub in Chicago for the Roulette label in 1959. Album cover design and jazz photography on the Blue Note Records. Notes and pictures from Birka Jazz Archive. Before Reid Miles took over as art director at Blue Note, he had worked as assistent to John Hermansader, who was a freelance designer working for Blue Note from his studio in New York. It happened that the assistent Miles became involved in the design of Blue Note´s covers and he carried them out to the client´s great satisfaction.
