5 is the fifth studio album by electronic music band Lamb, released on 5 May 2011 by Strata, after a 5-year hiatus. The record was the first album from the band after they reformed in 2009. The Independent found that little had changed since their split, with the band still sounding middle-class and unthreatening, although singer Lou Rhodes's voice was sounding more like Stevie Nicks. All tracks written by Andy Barlow and Lou Rhodes.

Album: Lamb, 5 (Strata). Sunday 24 July 2011 00:00. Lamb used to feel like the most infuriatingly middle-class band in existence: a Portishead for people who were scared of the dark, a proto-Dido to provide ambience at dinner parties. Eight years since their last LP, Andy Barlow's bleeps and beats haven't moved on noticeably, but the timbre of Lou Rhodes' voice has acquired a pleasing Stevie Nicks vibrato in the interim. They'll still never do anything to jolt or unsettle, but 5 won't have you screaming to send Lamb to the abattoir either. Drum And Bass Electronica Lamb Meat Portishead.

Lamb began transforming, shedding their recognizable drum 'n' bass driven skin with 2001's 'What Sound'. This shamanic chameleonism continues on '5'. The time apart has yielded three solo albums from Lou and a solo venture from Barlow called 'Lowb', all of which is quite worth tracking down.

Lamb's latest album '5, was released on 5 May 2011. Jon Thorne again lends his potent double bass to the mix, and Damien Rice turns in a stunning duet on ‘Back To Beginning’,’ but the nucleus of ‘Five’ is stringently and unmistakably Lou and Andy.
