VOX Magazine - October 1992 TOM ROBINSON Living In A Boom Time (Cooking Vinyl COOK CDO52). Across eleven tracks, recorded live on tour in Ireland earlier this year, Tom Robinson reinvents himself as a solo folk singer. Such a shift in emphasis may well prompt the agitprop fraternity to accuse him of going soft politically but, for the rest of us, Living In A Boom Time is Tom Robinson's most appealing album in years. released February 3, 2013. Guitar, keyboard & vocals by Tom Robinson Guests: Ciaran Wilde, sax on War Baby Peter Stewart, backing vocal on Back In The Ould Country.

Living in a Boom Time. Inspired by the new music he has heard through his 6 Music show, Tom Robinson has returned with his first new album in twenty years 'Only The Now', a record made with award-winning producer and t Gerry Diver and released on his own Castaway Northwest Recordings. The songs are as vibrant and edgy as any he's ever written: the sound of a veteran craftsman – drawing on his long, rich fund of experience – with a renewed energy and purpose. Tom Robinson is a songwriter and broadcaster born in 1950. His career started in 1975 and he enjoyed chart success fronting his own Tom Robinson Band (TRB) with hits such as Glad To Be Gay, 2-4-6-8 Motorway and Up Against The Wall. Rigging It Up Duncannon. 3. –Tom Robinson Band. The Brits Come Rolling Back. 5. Driving Through The Desert.
It was recorded, but not released until 1981 on the album The Fox. In 1980, Robinson organised Sector 27, a less political rock band that released a critically acclaimed but unsuccessful album, Sector 27, produced by Steve Lillywhite. The band nevertheless received an enthusiastic reception at a Madison Square Garden concert with The Police. However, their management company went bankrupt, the band disintegrated, and Robinson suffered another nervous breakdown. Living in a Boom Time".
