Love Will Keep Us Together is the first release by the duo Captain & Tennille. It was released in 1975 by A&M Records in both stereo (SP-4552) and CD-4 quadraphonic (QU-54552) versions. The album would peak at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 album chart, while the title song, "Love Will Keep Us Together", won the Grammy Award for Record Of The Year and was nominated for Song Of The Year. The cover of the album features a photo of Toni Tennille and Daryl Dragon sitting with two of their bulldogs.

Sung by the married couple Captain & Tennille, "Love Will Keep Us Together" is an affirmation that they will always be together, no matter what sweet-talking girl comes along. But to the writers, it had a different meaning. Neil Sedaka and Howard Greenfield wrote the song in 1973 during their last songwriting session together. In 1974, he included it on his popular comeback album, Sedaka's Back. Toni Tennille loved the song when she first heard it, and in 1975 Captain & Tennille released it as their first major-label single (they had just gotten a deal with A&M Records). It became the title track of their first album and their signature song. Daryl Dragon (The Captain) was formerly a keyboard player for The Beach Boys, and wanted "I Write The Songs," written by Bruce Johnston of The Beach Boys, released as their first single. That song ended up on the album, but was not issued as a single.

Captain & tennille - do that to me one more time. Música Para Recordar.

Keyboardist Daryl Dragon honed his chops touring with the Beach Boys, whose own emotive choral approach underpins much of this album; no less than four songs here have some connection to the band. Smoldering versions of former Beach Boy Bruce Johnston's "Disney Girls" and "I Write the Songs" stand tallest, with Tennille leading the vocal charge to exceptional effect

Captain & Tennille had formed years earlier when Daryl Dragon and Toni Tennille met in 1972 on the set of the ecology-themed musical Mother Earth, which Tennille was co-writing, and of which Dragon joined the production as a live keyboardist. Those hits were spread across 1975's Love Will Keep Us Together LP and 1976's Song of Joy, the duo's two albums to reach the top 10 of the Billboard 200 album chart (peaking at Nos. 2 and 9, respectively).

Just stop Cause I really love you Stop, I'll be thinking of you Look in my heart And let love keep us together. You You belong to me now Ain't gonna set you free now When those girls start hanging around Talking me down Hear with your heart And you won't hear a sound. Just stop Cause I really love you Stop, I'll be thinking of you Look in my heart And let love keep us together. The song originally appeared on Neil Sedaka’s 1973 album The Tra-La Days Are Over. Their version topped the Billboard Hot 100 and Easy Listening chart.
