Lee Dorsey & Betty Harris. Lewis Taylor & Carleen Anderson. There's Something on Your Mind.

Irving Lee Dorsey (December 24, 1924 – December 1, 1986) was an African American pop and R&B singer during the 1960s. His biggest hits were "Ya Ya" (1961) and "Working in the Coal Mine" (1966). Much of his work was produced by Allen Toussaint, with instrumental backing provided by The Meters

Lee Dorsey is New Orleans' spectacular hidden (by history) gem. I first discovered Lee Dorsey on his "The Best of Lee Dorsey" album in a budget-cassette bin in a department store music section, about thirty years ago. I soon realized as I listened repeatedly out of curiosity growing to passion, that I had acquired a precious gem. Now years later when cassettes have been replaced by digital music, I wanted the best greatest hits CD I could find on Lee Dorsey's awesome music.

Written-By – Allen Toussaint (tracks: A1 to B1, B3 to B6), Joe South (tracks: B2). Notes. All tracks published by Marsaint Music except "Games People Play", published by Lowery Music Co. Inc. Recorded in New Orleans, Louisiana. Matrix, Runout (Label side A): POLP 80125. Easily one of the funkiest albums of all time. Lee Dorsey tears it up on this album! Yes we can. I know we can can.
