Millie Jackson is the self-titled debut album by singer-songwriter, Millie Jackson. This album is different from all her other album to follow in that this album features some Motown style songs. It includes the R&B hits "A Child of God (It's Hard to Believe)", "My Man, A Sweet Man" and "Ask Me What You Want. The album was arranged by Tony Camillo and Bert de Coteaux.
Still Caught Up returned listeners to the torrid backbiting and constant recriminations of Millie Jackson's blockbuster Caught Up, and though it didn't compare favorably, it was easily good enough to make it better than her average full-length. Though not live, it has a stagey sound, with frequent monologues, nice testifying backup vocals, an odd breakout of audience applause, and the kind of loose-limbed horn section heard during Elvis' Las Vegas appearances.
Taking the drama of a love triangle to logical extremes, Millie Jackson's Caught Up turns the pitfalls of tainted love into the basis for a concept album (the seeds for soul music's explicit treatment of the topic having been planted by James Carr's "Dark End of the Street"). While the "other woman's" view is taken up initially on cuts like the R&B hit "If Loving You Is Wrong I Don't Want to Be Right," the wife's plight is covered on the second half of the disc with revealing titles like "It's All Over but the Shouting.
Written-By – Bobby Goldsboro (tracks: B4), Bobby Womack (tracks: B3), Carl Hampton (tracks: A1,A3), Homer Banks (tracks: A1, A3), K. Sterling (tracks: A4, B1), Millie Jackson (tracks: A2, A4, B1), Phillip Mitchell (tracks: A5, B2), Raymond Jackson (tracks: A1, A3). Notes. Caught Up (LP, Album).
1 Taking the drama of a love triangle to logical extremes, Millie Jackson’s Caught Up turns the pitfalls of tainted love into the basis for a concept album (the seeds for soul music’s explicit treatment of the topic having been planted by James Carr’s Dark End of the Street ). While the other woman’s view is taken up initially on cuts like the R&B hit If Loving You Is Wrong I Don’t Want to Be Right the wife’s plight is covered on the second half of the disc with revealing titles like It’s All Over But the Shouting. I found strange that at the time of release, Millie Jackson was considered to be singer who is hiding her vocal limitations with rap, when to my ears her robust, gritty, passionate voice sounds like one of the best voices I ever heard (combination of Gladys Knight and Tina Turner).
Caught Up is the fourth album by R&B musician Millie Jackson. It includes the hit singles, "(If Loving You Is Wrong) I Don't Want to Be Right", "The Rap" and "I'm Through Trying to Prove My Love to Yo. A concept album, Caught Up follows the story of a woman having an affair with a married man. Side A features Jackson singing from the mistress' point of view and Side B is told from the wife's point of view.

Millie Jackson's "Still Caught Up" was her equally compelling follow-up to "Caught Up" - still one of Soul music's most acclaimed albums of all time. Now, after 15 years, it's getting a well-deserved makeover that will introduce the album to a whole new generation of potential MJ fans, as part of a general upgrading of Millie's Spring catalogue
