Orchid is the debut studio album by Swedish progressive metal band Opeth, released on May 15, 1995 in Europe by Candlelight Records, and on June 24, 1997 in the United States by Century Black. It was reissued in 2000 with one bonus track called "Into the Frost of Winter", an early unproduced rehearsal recording by the band. The recording sessions occurred at the old Unisound studio, in Finspång with production by Opeth alongside Dan Swanö.

Chaos Is Me is the debut studio album by American screamo band Orchid. It was released on June 21, 1999 through Ebullition Records. Chaos Is Me heralded the change of the guard for extreme music, and brought both Amherst, Massachusetts and Hampshire College to the forefront of the scene's attention. The album was released on the LP record format, and was also included on a 2002 compilation CD that included its follow-up Dance Tonight! Revolution Tomorrow!.

At its fist-raised, wallowing on the floor best, with not a moment to catch your breath or let your heartbeat lessen its pace. The title says it all - Chaos Is Me is pure emotive chaotic introspective hardcore, whipping your back and watching you beg for more. Lyrical content is of a more well-conceived and personal nature than most other hardcore-ish bands that may be relatable to this sound. Driving, maniacal, choppy, incessant, and beautiful.
