Aptly titled Taking Over, it was pretty imminent that Overkill meant business. They were out to take over the scene by flushing out wannabes and poseurs. The production is very heavy and I’m yet to hear a thrash metal album with such a crushing feel. Despite its newfound relationship with the record industry, Overkill made absolutely no mainstream concessions on its sophomore effort.
