But he had achieved a measure of fame as a songwriter in the preceding years. But the album contained songwriting more concerned with personal expression than craftsmanship. Webb sang in a light, occasionally gruff tenor that revealed his roots in Oklahoma, his renditions far less polished than those of the singers who usually handled his songs, but more technically accomplished than, say, Bob Dylan or Randy Newman, and so perfectly acceptable.

Babbling begins shortly after birth and progresses through several stages as the infant's repertoire of sounds expands and vocalizations become more speech-like.

The Techno Babble trope as used in popular culture. Any impressive- and scientific-sounding, but ultimately nonsensical utterance, full of buzzwords. Magi Babble for the fantasy version of this trope. Often the source of an Expospeak Gag; may be Sophisticated as Hell. Particularly ridiculous technobabble may appear to someone with actual expertise as being a technical form of Delusions of Eloquence, or just have a hysterical or horrifying meaning in the real world. Kids Praise: The time machine in the seventh album inevitably brought this on, with Psalty talking about an ut power drive" at one point. SCP Foundation, SCP-1417-J ("Passive-Aggressive Meteorite").

This is an interesting promotional release.Rather than simply containing interviews and excerpts of songs, this disc was created using "Virtual Audio" technology. The idea behind virtual audio was to give the listener the feeling that they were in a 3-Dimensional space.Back around 1994, this particular disc was being discussed in online news groups because of the startling effects. Between interview and song snippets, the narrator walks around the listener, whispers behind them and so on. The part that had everyone chatting though was the knock at the door. While listening to this disc with your eyes closed, you'll hear a knock at your door. It's only when you go to the door and open it that you'll realise that the knock only exists in virtual audio on the disc! The realism of that single effect worth getting this disc for.Although the music and interviews will only be of interest to Babble and Thompson Twins fans, the virtual audio will be a conversation piece for any collector of rare promotional items.
