And have more bargaining power when they went into contract negotiations. Jimmy Page also generally refused to make singles. As he’d learned when in the Yardbirds that unpopular singles can cause irreversible failure for a band. And he deliberately created songs too long to be played on commercial Radio.

Led Zeppelin were an English rock band who recorded 108 songs between 1968 and 1980. Their self-titled debut album, Led Zeppelin, released in early 1969, contained songs that were influenced by the genres of blues, hard rock and heavy metal

Led Zeppelin took some liberties, I must say, Page admitted. As far as my end of it goes, I always tried to bring something fresh to anything that I used, he claimed. He put the blame on Plant: Robert was supposed to change the lyrics, and he didn’t always do that, which is what brought on most of the grief. This song, more than any other track on Led Zeppelin’s debut album, established their epic sweep. It was written by American folk singer Anne Bredon in the 1950s: Jimmy Page and Robert Plant, however, were fans of Joan Baez and knew the track from her 1962 album Joan Baez in Concert, Part 1. (Page has said that he learned the song in the days of sitting in the darkness, playing my six-string behind Marianne Faithfull.

In 1976, Led Zeppelin released the album Presence a few months after Plant was involved in a car accident. During the same year, the band released a movie entitled The Song Remains the Same of their performance in 1973 in Madison Square Garden. In 1979, the album In Through the Out Door was released and reached number one. In 1980, John Bonham passed away and the band broke up.

Puzzling, this is blocked for sale, but other versions with different names of the same thing aren't? BS!

Great soundboard recording. Sadly, much of the bands interaction with the audience is cut. Also, part of "The Song Remains the Same" is cut. Sick again starts with the intro riff from the rover (this is a really great version of Sick Again). The weak spot on this set is side H1, which seems like it is cut up, and just doesn't sound good (imho).Recommended.

There is a 4 Record Picture Disc Version of this. It is what I have. Side three is quite a rocker. I will trade it for unusual electro acoustic material. VG+ to ++ Records and the sleeve has creases.
